The M7 Facebook group is waiting for someone to return from holiday for an update on the work in Norfolk.

In no way competing with the Bluebell's parade yesterday (which only had one 33 and the rest steam) the Swanage version this morning also had on 33 but only one steam.
This was of course actually a move to get the T3 from the sidings to the coal stage.
Rare for me to be around at this time but a 09:30 dental appointment coincided with the move and would have even allowed me to see the T3 depart had it been on time, although in the end it was 15 late.
Eddystone was also in steam a fact I realised long before reaching the bridge from the sound of the air pump banging away. DSC_0171r.JPG

The only good thing to come out of having to go to Boots to (not) collect by Dad's drugs was this movement. Glad I chose the time I did.
The van looks cracking, and the coach will look nice behind an unrebuilt. DSC_0226_1r.JPG DSC_0228r.JPG

The van has been trapped in the shed behind 5761 for about 6 months. 5761 was in for a repaint and ended up being totally re skinned. Good work by all. I think the Maunsells are going in next for repaints, I'm sure one or two others on here can confirm/deny that.

They’re the farms up in the hills. The ones down by the coast are the “lower farms”.

1381 is the first of the two to go in for a repaint.

Busy trains at Corfe today, even though it's diesel hauled. Might be because of the long queues at Harmans Cross due to the new gas main going in. Apparently a 29 week job

Planning to be in the area on Tuesday 2nd September - does anyone know the chances of seeing the T3 and/or the 20 in action, please?

Something more immediate determines what we do tomorrow. We are staying in Corfe and today we were on the 1245 Swanage behind 34072. The loco roster states 34070 from tomorrow but when we passed it in the siding outside Swanage there was no sign of life and when I shouted to our driver at Corfe I think he said 34070 would not be working tomorrow. Not sure I heard properly above the noise of the engine though

    Does anyone know for sure?

    Thanks

    Don

I'm told by the Operations Manager that it will be 34072 tomorrow. 34070 most likely from Wednesday.

Potentially frustrating for the (hopefully) many passengers for the Christmas Specials in November/December.
