Interesting fact trumpeted on both the webpage and the email about the first visit for 19 years. I'm sure 60007 was under overhaul in 2006..... 1996 is more likely the last time it visited.

Just checked my old diaries - yes, it was 1996. A return visit will be most welcome.

Have to agree with you there. You can imaging my delight when I came across this pair in action back in 1988 88-5-30 13 copy.jpg

That’s a cracking photo taken at Medstead. With any luck we will see 34105 arriving at Medstead again.

That must have been quite early on, when 34105, borrowed BI's tender because hers was not finished then

As I said, it was in 1988, a looong time ago - and I'm afraid to say that I've not been back there since then:(.

A frustrating day working on 499. One of the guys brought in his borer to true up the 2 remaining sets of brake hanger mounts. started the second cut and it stopped playing. :Android:
Anyway, some pictures of what it was all about, for those not familiar with Eastleigh's ways.
The pin is fitted from inside the frames and rivetted up. The existing holes were pretty well mullahed, and had been touched up with weld, presumably at Feltham Loco.
The frame colour is wrong. It should be 'tan', but a now deceased member insisted on cream. It will need a repaint (fortunately).

Eastleigh’s ways - didn’t they normally launch their locos down a slipway rather than roll them out of the erecting shop?

So, another Saturday dawned atop the hill, but Muggin's 'Ere is still confined to barracks :Arghh: but hopefully not for too much longer......... :)

That meant it was down to Me Oppo & Me Mucker, along with a couple of the lads to progress things with LMS van M517317, and it would seem dear reader, that mother nature is now toying with us once again by making any outside work difficult by making things wet!!! :Banghead:

But undaunted by the wet stuff, between them they managed to progress the roof edging to undercoat, fit the internal kick board's and bolt the roof to the roof hoops! :)

I've been limited to doing stuff all, in moments of sheer boredom, I've been trawling the archives, and discovering images that for whatever reason, I've never processed, until now!

So a few from the MHR (there are others from elsewhere as well)

The kick boards finally fitted, not my image - just need to clean up the floor now.....
