Nothing that a coat of black paint wouldn't put right. :D

The BR Maroon will do just nicely thank you. :D 46441 being announced has brought back a lot of memories, as far as I can recall it was my first ever steam loco for haulage. Sometime in the mid 90s, just before it went into BR Black.

Well, when all the others are in black, I don't think it hurts too much for one of them to be in a rather lovely shade of maroon instead ;)

Nice, not regular visitors to Bury in steam days, Springs Branch had a few so they turned up occasionally on the Knowsley Street line. Most unusually one turned up one Saturday in August 1964 on a Wigan - Scarborough holiday train which we caught as far as York for the day. Lost time over the whole journey.

Full line return normally available late afternoon - basically when there is only the possibility to take one round trip. So it wouldn't allow any real choice to travel full line behind a particular loco - unless you can pick your day to suit. Short trips may also be available, again late afternoon onwards.

Full line return is available, but only on the day and not in advance. Shorter fares available from late afternoon on the day, time of validity at each station varies dependant on ability (or not) to make full trip.
