Looks great, much as I like it's "traditional" appearance it's really good to see it turned out like this.

Elsewhere it's been remarked on an Austerity (Swiftsure?) assuming a J94 identity, and here we have a 'Legit' GWR loco taking on it's industrial identity.

So glad to see 813 back, long a favourite of mine. Hopefully it can have a better run of luck now.

Whilst congratulating the construction of her new tank, is the horizontal 'seam' that runs along the lower sides going to be filled flush at some point?

Hello, I think the seam will one day be filled. Not a priority of the Fund at present. We have lost rather a lot of steaming fees over the last few years. The new tank has cost over £35K plus some work done at Bridgnorth to get the loco back in steam. The Fund has several expensive wagon restoration taking place as well.

    thanks

    Nick

In GWR livery it does look like a real GWR loco, albeit an unusual one after the GWR gave up on their own saddle tanks and churned out pannier tanks instead. In black it would look like an industrial loco.

Prior to the Churchward era, the GWR had all sorts of odd locos (mostly inherited from various takeovers of other railways). And that is just the standard gauge.
