1510 Grosmont-Pickering premium Tornado service not long passed Goathland webcam with hardly anybody on.

Begs the question - why not just open normal yesterday and today, probably would have made more money than the cheap £30 Tornado tickets.

In your example it would be the same 5 people who would have had the right of re-entry, although the only name in the Annual Pass was the original purchaser. I’m sure that if the Annual Pass had continued then all the five peoples’ names would have been on the annual pass.

The whole Gift Aid issue seems about as clear to understand as Angela Rayner's Stamp Duty issues.:(

The annual pass was offered whether or not gift aided. Only some 70% of passengers purchasing an all line ticket gift aided but 100% were still offered the annual pass.

I was going to book for this afternoon but I couldn't get free. When I looked yesterday evening, I think there were only around 20 to 25 booked places.
I shall maybe try next week.

    Or why open at all?
There are no free tickets (eg annual pass) on this weeks / next weeks Thursday/ Friday Tornado services as it is a premium service when the railway would otherwise have been closed.

Perhaps next year will be weekends only with only 7 day running during the summer to save money.

How many marketing staff will that require to get the message across that the line isn't open every day?

Certainly more than this year; so they can follow up with gems like pictures of Tornado instead of Flying Scotsman or vice versa.

Meanwhile the auction started today has raised 4.3% of target of £20k, zero bids yet for breakfast, lunch or footplate ride with Piglet.

That would enable the railway to run more special trains based on the recent success of the Tornado special trains. ;)

Not looking like a runaway success.

My worry is, once 75029 is done- will it be the same each time a loco needs an overhaul because whilst this approach for fundraising probably works once, it's unlikely to work again (and again) afterwards.

(4)5428 can't be long away from an overhaul now- will be see the same approach, or will it just be parked somewhere on the railway like 76079 has been, and 44806 was until a new owner stepped in?

75029? It would be nice to see 34101.

Every update for the last few years (nearly a decade?) has said it'll be in service the following year.

I'm really looking forward to 34101.

I have a picture of me sat in the driver's seat aged 10 or 11 on my birthday that I'd quite like to recreate.....

Sitting in the driver's seat again is one thing. Looking 10 or 11 again?
