60007 crosses the River Eden at Wetheral whilst enroute from Upperby to Heaton, 16 September 2025. The saying 'can't see the wood for the trees' comes to mind, somewhat.

Belated mention of 34028 Eddystone, and it's "Swanage Belle" train, being towed from Basingstoke Up Reception Siding to WCRC Southall: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:11862/2025-09-11/detailed
Overheated middle big end, so I'm told. Coupling rod taken down and transported to SLL Herston Works for attention.
Have no further information about state of repairs, etc.

Nearly home under skies that hint that summer is over, 'Braunton' re-starting from a signal check at Prees after the preceding TfW Shrewsbury - Crewe stopper seemed to have an extended stop there. 34046 wasn't able to go forward until the stopper cleared the crossing at Wrenbury.

Weird news but saw on Rail Adventures Facebook page that they were responsible for moving Flying Scotsman today from Locomotion to Darlington with their Class 43's.

I'm confused to why DB Cargo weren't involved with this move, I thought they exclusively dealt with movements of Scotsman on the Mainline.

You don't know weather to laugh or cry about the rediculous situation that we find Flying Scotsman in these days. Fancy sending a pair of HST power cars, from god knows where, to drag the loco in steam all of eight miles from Shildon to Darlington. I ask you:rolleyes:. It is hardly a cost effective way of moving the loco such a short distance.

I must be getting old because everything these days seems to be so complicated and unnecessary:(.

But hey - it's only Flying Scotsman (the one time Peoples Engine)

Is it exclusively DB, or more a case of anyone but WCRC?

Regarding @torgormaig's question, the power cars had come up from Doncaster. They took 55009 from Lydney to Barrow Hill the day before.

I think that yes your likely right anyone but WCR or LSL, they too likely don't want anything to do with Scotsman.

Just assumed DB is the usual go to choice for these movements, however Rail Adventures is taking Scotsman again on Monday to York. Perhaps DB just wasn't available.
