If someone said "Finsbury Park Deltic" to me, the white window surrounds are what I would think of, not that blanked quarter-light.

 

Don't fret about it lads, it's not important, as mentioned in #267 ...............I'll live with it. I don't care if they turn Deltics out in primer, I just want them main line running.................with both engine humming Deltic music.
I remember a time when they ran an intensive daily schedule up and down the ECML (on both engines) Happy days.
KX - Edinburgh and return, then a KX - Edinburgh, was a normal day.
And don't let the 100mph Max speed fool you. They could 'nip on a bit' with an enthusiastic driver.

I remember those days too and was so sad when the HSTs came along and usurped them

Apparently my namesake holds the record for highest speed in service - 125mph down Stoke Bank (where else?) in 1978. I've certainly timed one at 113mph approaching New Southgate.
