    Highlights of Steam from 2024 - around 40 locations, about 25 locomotives and just under 45 minutes in length. Main line charters, preserved lines, steam galas, The Jacobite, narrow gauge in Wales - gradients, station departures, Churnet Valley with Pendennis Castle and 75033 - a personal selection, fast-moving and based on sound!

    Something different. Ten extended tracks of 'Steam in the Landscape' - uncut sequences capturing the passage of steam working hard - in the Esk Valley, on the climb to Ipstones - Churnet Valley Railway, on the West Highland extension and more. And after the first viewing, hopefully worthy of successive repeats including possibly as a good piece of 'background' simply to relax to at the end of the day! Full details in the description that accompanies the video. And if you've only time to try one track - then the K1 62005 climbing through the Esk Valley towards Green End and on towards Beckhole might take some beating. It certainly reminds me of Peter Handford's 'Trains in the Night' album - not that there is any comparison in quality - but with the same ingredients - hooting owls, spluttering pheasants, a complete absence of any wind and the distant glow following a glorious sunset.
