These are really good. Now I won't have to travel to the gala!

A great improvement. I particularly like the re-positioning of Minehead 1 camera and the improved clarity. Well done RailCam.

Yeah these are fantastic. I have Railcam running on something pretty much every day I'm working at home - sometimes to follow a gala I can't get to, or to see what's going on at somewhere too far away to visit often (NYMR is my default), but the WSR cameras are particularly useful because that one's close to home. If I'm unsure how to use a free day, I'll often use Railcam to see what's on the 10am-ish trains at Minehead and Lydeard and which way they're facing because I can usually get to Watchet/Williton ahead of them if I make a spur of the moment decision to head out for some pictures or a nice bit of front window running behind a Manor up a hill. So that new Minehead angle is particular handy for that as that'll give me even earlier warning of what's on the Minehead seat!

A Dartmouth Steam Railway camera giving me a heads up on what's out at Paignton each day would be a great addition for the same reason!

Views great, one tiny niggle - Minehead Station and Seaward Way Crossing views are reversed when picking from the dropdown menu . Anyone know if that's a WSR or Railcam issue?

I noticed that the cameras were being panned and zoomed at various times, so maybe you found them at a time when they were reversed?

Not joking. The WSR is one railway that I never patronise. I have too many fond memories of the S & D museum site at Washford.

That's quite an extension they're planning, if they're intending to link up with the KWVR!

The reporting is almost as silly as the photograph chosen to accompany it.

Somerset Live seems to be rather like Devon Live. Any photo will suffice if it appears to fit the story. The reporting can seem as a joke at times and it would seem that the contributors live some distance away.

I wouldn't have any issue with that. One of the best engines I've ever been on!

I'm more interested in this miraculous range extension for a Terrier

I’ve heard rumours it’s going to be fitted with a super efficient set of condensing apparatus and converted to oil firing for the purpose. The coaches will also be fitted with underslung oil tanks to give it the necessary range. I’ve also heard rumours of a corridor bunker to allow crew swaps en route as they need their PNB’s these days but I think that’s less likely and they’ll just stop briefly for a crew change at New Street. Perhaps Tom can confirm or otherwise?;)

...and if it happens to be an item about a place that has the same name as another place some miles away, you can bet they will pick the wrong one!

Run by Reach PLC - also owners of the Mirror, the Express, MEN, and a whole host of other printed and digital piles of excrement.
