Incredibly good value tickets. For a ticket under £100 in this day and age is a steal. Such a shame Standard couldn't remain a feature on all their trips, but very pleased it came back for this one, would be tempted unfortunately to get to Euston for 7am would be impossible.

The quickest I’ve ever booked a railtour, at last one for the enthusiasts!

Same here, only minor downside is there's no Stafford pick up. But for 99.00 you'd be mad not to take a punt. Hopefully it's all mark 1's like the shareholder train. You know they like to sneak in a mark 2 sometimes.

a very interesting and for the enthusiast , most welcome price point . is this a brand new tour in which case i guess the short notice probably needs a pricepoint to tempt the wallets open

My reaction was that this is more like the test runs opened to sale that used to run.

Not sure if it’s mentioned in the web page but it is supposed to be unassisted too. With generator car as part of consist

I'd be careful saying things like that Harry. If people here book on it based on your comment, and it turns out it has a tail gunner, you'll be the one getting it in the neck!

If people are only inclined to book based on a comment which uses the word ‘supposed’ then they’re daft!

The info I have from a good LSL source says it should be unassisted all being well, I see no harming in that.

The imp wonders if the pricing is to tempt the resolve of those unimpressed by the last duke’s trip passengers

I suspect that group might just be advised not to darken LSL's doors... It's a tempting prospect, but has a couple of clashes that I can't resolve - aside from the ethics of the operator.

Looks a good deal from Crewe, might even be tempted myself, anyone one to make up a group.

Edit; booked as it said only 10 seats left in standard.

Would be good if this was to become a regular offering with different locos.
