Alas track access charges only cover Network Rail property and not "private" depots. If you start using such facilities you have to pay through the nose, that is if they they will accomodate you in the first place. I saw this recently with the Network Rail Inspiration train. It was on display at the NRM at York for a week in August, something planned weeks in advance. Come the day of arrival, access to the Museum through the Siemens depot was refused because the trains operator, GBRf, did not have an agreement with the depot. In the end Network Rail arranged for the Newark Thunderbird loco to come up to York to shunt the train into the Museum because WCR did have an agreement with Siemens. When it left ten days later GBRf had the necessary paperwork in order so all was ok but I wouldn't underestimate the cost involved.

Oh the joys of the privatised railway.:(
