Surely you have answered your own question. What was valid 2 years ago may not be now. That may be a physical issue or just paper work. I remember about 12 years back No 9 suddenly was out of gauge at one of the Carlisle platforms, yet no engineering work had taken place since its previous visit not long before.

Clun Castle at full chat last night, Bozards Lane Crossing. Thanks to All who made it possible to witness once again the magic of express steam roaring through the night seemingly breathing fire, an epic moment which will live long in the memory.

For some more Fire Breathing Dragon videos, have a look at the videos of the Sandaoling coal mine in China-sadly they don't use steam locos there any more.

No whinging Michael from this table of 4 despite being at the rear again. I think it was our fifth VT this year and only Newcastle failed to live up to expectations and that was nothing to do with VT; all the others excelled. One of my co-travellers sent this last night which might please you.
"Our return journey from Bristol will live long in my memory. Thundering through Wickwar tunnel and emerging at speed reminded me of Camden Tunnel and Honeybourne bank in the 1960s, when returning from Oxford. The only thing missing yesterday was the shower of sparks bouncing against the tunnel roof, which those near the front may have seen.
    Yesterday was great."
    Yes indeed, what a day!

Incidentally, the left hand cylinder issue seen (and heard) in my video - was that a fault or just a transient thing?

That depends on how much effort 7029 was being allowed to exert, I imagine.

I sense a little sharp object being ground from your posts

sounded like a cylinder drain cock not fully closed . later videos showed no sign so it would appear transient

There is a balance to strike of running an engine with respect to its vintage in a way that gives the customers an experience to remember (in a positive way) but also respects the 21st century railway it has to fit on .
