Well done to Saphos tours (LSL) for running and organising this charter which was aimed at the enthusiast fraternity and without a diesel on the back as is the usual noem for Saphos, other than the normal dining oriented tours. Consist was 71000 & support coach, generator van, and a rake of MK1 1st opens & a single 2nd class MK 2a on the rear, which i was in, excellent weather conditions for the run, and i timed 71000 over Shap summit at around 48mph (its varies with different people, so hopefully there was a official timekeeper involved)
Earlier in the morning 71000 Duke of Gloucester comes off LSL shed

I think the Avanti West Coast platform supervisor came to the end of his rope as he called the BTP to clear the end of the platform as members of the public/photographers wouldn't stand behind the yellow line, luckily i was able to get my photos in time, as can be seen everybody seemed to behind the yellow line as a TPE Class 397 departed North

(i went home via Manchester Piccadilly by TPE and was home by 21:15 rather than after 23:30 if i went back to Crewe with the tour)

Nice set of Images Neil - I particularly like the lighting on the shot of the Scotrail 320 at Carlisle. I use a Nikon V1 smaller format camera as easier to carry about than a DSLR but I am realising I can't get the quality of shots in lower light conditions as you have here.
