I think you’ll find that the images of individuals are not being sold for gain, so are incidental - this is not the same as an image specifically of an individual, where release of rights is required. There are quite limited requirements for notification that images are being captured.

Grosmont to Pickering is over an hour though, and you don't have the option of jumping off at a station, using a loo, then getting the next service right behind. At least there's the option of holding the autocar at stations for passengers to use the facilities if required. Pathfinder did it at the weekend at Hereford due to lack of working toilets on the set on the way back to Oxford - sat there for 45 minutes and subsequently delayed two other services.

I think it might depend on whether the platform is considered a public space or not. If you need a platform ticket or a travel ticket to be there then it’s possible you have created a private space. Music venue operators have have something in the T and Cs and signs at the door if they intend to sell images from the venue so maybe this is going to be similar? I speculate based on limited knowledge.

That may be, but my comment was based on the bald assertion that image rights apply in any and all circumstances.

Given that it is wood and not steel it will retain rather than absorbing the body heat given off by passengers. (Hopefully).

As a guard on the 50 min K&ESR journey, I can assure you that lack of (accesible) toilets will inevitably cause a problem. Heritage Railways are not public transport they have a different clientelle. Maybe its a southern softy thing and the northerners are tougher having only recently started to get inside toilets in their houses? ;)

I agree but we were talking about a journey on the autocar between Grosmont & Goathland which is what 15 minutes?

But the autocar is running two full round trips from Pickering to Grosmont each day.

I know from the TV industry that audiences are informed that their images may be used by the programme maker.

My concern is that likely the experience of passengers with weak bladders in these runs will be held up as evidence against the use of the non-corridor stock in future - despite the fact that all three of the likely vehicles have lavatories accessible by internal corridors - yet such vehicles represent an even more demonstrable difference to Mk 1 stock. If, of course they haven't all been forced away from the NYMR because the management cannot see a use for them.

If the lack of toilets on the previous full length Autocar runs didn't cause a massive outcry why will it be different this time ?

It won't be any different but for the wailings of people on here who won't be going to travel on it anyway. The railtours round Scunthorpe have no loo either on board, but no-one complains on here about it.

Having had to deal small children with weak bladders, I'm firmly in the camp that heritage railways should ensure that loos are available for all but the shortest journeys; there are also adults for whom ready access to toilets is essential (and where Equalities Act considerations are sometimes argued). I think the Autocar is probably a manageable exception, especially if the constraint is made clear.

I do however share the suspicion of @60044 that adverse feedback on here may be transmuted into "you can't use non-corridor stock" by those who appear by their actions and decisions to want nothing but Mk1 formations.

And of course it is possible for non-corridor stock to have toilets.

So you either believe the Autocar should not run or it should be retro fitted with a toilet ?

I think simply padding out the timetable to allow toilet breaks en route would be sufficient. There's nothing else running except the "non-stop" Pickering - Whitby service and the diner, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, and certainly doesn't interfere with the connection on to NR at Grosmont.

There are times when the timetable is at best a guide to the estimated times anyway!

I’m all for its use but I think it’s lack of 21st century amenities such as toilets and adequate heating needs to be well spelled out. Not everyone is as robust as us., (Assuming you fit that description. )

I suggest you read what I wrote - "this is probably a manageable exception, especially if the constraints are made clear".

Thinking of when this has mattered to me, that would allow me to make an informed choice and decide what I wanted to do.
