Hopefully this means more trips to be hauled by Flying Scotsman next year with UK Railtours.

I can't remember exactly where it was said but, UK Railtours did express how they wished they could have had MK1's for this trip. Perhaps in the distant future with some wishful thinking on my end UK Railtours or someone else will get another rake of CDL MK1s for railtours.

Maybe because the majority of the passengers aren't aware of them.

Some rail hire firm with enough money to persuade WCRC to sell a dozen Mk1’s and add CDL
(Though doubt they would ever sell them to a competitor)

I suspect the schedule will be uploaded sometime on 13/12/2025 to minimise the Flying Scotsman media effect.

    Cheers, Neil

Train arrives from London 13:28 into P11 departing 13:58.
Train arrives Newcastle P2 15:30 and departs 17:33

    I hope that helps

Somebody has forgot that the Wear Tyne Derby is on at that time, and with the game finishing at 16:00, by 17.33 the Station Area and City should be spicy to say the least....

I doubt anyone has forgotten, probably more that circumstances meant it cannot be avoided...

Nearly five hours to York (including the pick ups, of course). It brings home how difficult it is to get speedy charter paths when you want them.

And it just gets to the destination at sunset!

Another complication to tomorrow's tour is its the first day of the new ECML timetable.

Pathing for all tours gets more difficult if it involves the route from now on...

A reflection on the fact that DB no longer own any electric locos too, suspect a class 90 would do a lot better than a 67. Les Ross makes such a difference on the West Coast legs of the CMEs etc, when not availableWest Coast need x2 47s to keep time .

Although this arrived on time it's been at York for an hour now and not yet left at 14.25. Hardly the trip to be delayed, unfortunately.

Looks late running and then ontime service trains are being given priority leaving York even though they seem to be pathed on the fast and Scotman is pathed on the slow.

Chatter on Railcam this afternoon suggests it’s a brake fault on the very last coach of the train, thats to blame for the ongoing delay at York.

Or perhaps with help from the York tourist board they could turf everyone off there, show them round the city (after walking them all past the 'Flying Scotsman') and get them back to the train nicely in time for them to head back south. :)
