Tents? Surely you tough northerners don't need tents? \:D/

Just as long as it's not YET ANOTHER main line diesel... there's no room in the car to bring the gas axe with us.

Unless I've misssed something the 'new' loco is definately steam, and still in progress of restoration to working order! However it will be a good addition to the smaller and older part of the fleet =D>

We have had new batteries for the railways calculator, turns out that unless we have any spare cash to burn we wont go down this route again....

Field cut, Dubs has buffers & Wimble is due back today.

    Things are warming up !.

Any chance of using a mk1 compartment overnight? Small issue involving the lack of a tent!

    Thanks

Backworth 47 should be with us next week, looks we wont be getting William Francis to pop in - shame. Folk may be interested to learn that the chassis for Knotty coach 127 was cut this week to allow the new sections to be welded in, the chassis for NSR 61 is finished.

I'll be making my first trip to a Foxfield gala this year, the B&B is booked. Can anyone offer advice where the best photo spots are? Is it possible to go lineside and how much does it cost?

    Regards

Adult rover rate for Gala is £12.00, this includes free transport to Foxfield Colliery and accesss to the bank by a new footpath to be used for the first time over the gala. Most folk think that the bank is the place to be... . Coach will also transport folk back and forth to Blythe Bridge Station to connect with the "big railway".

    Thanks for that, most appreciated.

In addition to the 'extension' of the line from Dilhorne to the colliery (is this 'Foxfield Bank?') there is also a line of railway southish from Caverswall which originally connected the the NSR near to Blythe Bridge. Will this be open too?

    Regards

It all sounds great. Can't wait!

Will the bus link to Blyth Bridge (NR station) be timetabled? I have a friend who is planning on travelling to the event via public transport, and would be interested to know which services 'connect' with the buses.

Also, will it be a minibus, or similar? Had major troubles at two events up that way this year, where a 'bus link' has been provided by a 16 or 24 seater minibus; resulting in people being left behind, due to sheer volumes of people arriving, and the vehicle being unable to cope. Two (or even three) trips had to be made, with resultant onward connections being missed. Not a criticism, just worried he'll get left behind!

Finally; what a wonderful idea, putting in a buslink to Foxfield Bank! An inspired idea. Will this be leaving from Caverswall Rd, and if so, does anyone know the rough frequency please?

Many thanks in advance, and looking forward to a cracking event!
