Important Announcement Regarding the Severn Beach Miniature Railway
It is with a heavy and heartbroken spirit that I must announce the end of the Severn Beach Miniature Railway project. Despite our best efforts and a long, difficult battle with the South Gloucestershire Council planning team and Planning Enforcement, I have had to make the painful decision to bring the project to a close.

I was given permission to begin this project, and I hold the emails and documentation that confirm this. A lease was even prepared - only to be withdrawn before I was able to sign it. Sadly, this has meant that our community and our dedicated volunteers have been denied what would have been a truly special and exciting project for Severn Beach.

I would like to express my deepest thanks to every one of you who followed, supported, and believed in this vision. Your encouragement has meant more than you know.

Wishing you all the very best,

    Joe Nemeth
    Lead Project Engineer

Yes I am an active volunteer
And so ends another sorry saga> I'm sure it was a great project idea, but one has to wonder whether it was sufficiently thought through and organised. The same person had similar issues with his plans for a line at Tintern in Glos., before that was abandoned. "Once bitten twice shy" should have been the watchword here, or perhaps, more relevantly, "don't start laying the track till the lease is signed!"
