Thanks. Saw a picture of 35005 in steam yesterday so that lines up.

There are a lot of people coming specifically for it. I am expecting it to be quite busy.

Although I can’t be there tomorrow, I will definitely be on board with grandkids on the driest of the running days during the week.
The 150 at MHR and the GWR Railcar visiting the East Somerset Rly in March are tremendously exciting for me.

That they do, but to suggest avoiding the railway is a bit silly considering there is a steam service in action too.

FFFFlippin' 'Eck it were fresh atop the hill yesterday morning - zero in fact!

But at least it was dry and sunny..... but the sun buggered off later.

Still, the troublesome trucks have come back to Bennett's from their winter Holibob over the hill, so....... that meant only one thing - exam time!

Me Oppo took the opportunity to show the two new guys (yes they've come back) the ropes.... seems they're quick learners, they didn't even get caught out when asked to check the 'oil' in the roller bearing boxes (unlike some!)

The rest of us set to with burning yet more rubbish, and gently wire brushing the frames of the workshop PMV - we don't want to go too hard given that it isn't warm enough to apply any red oxide, nor do we want to encourage any more rust, at the mo it's a case of assessing the frames and seeing just what we need to do - we already know that we'll have to patch repairs to parts of the frames, but just not how much.

It was good to see trains running again & boy, does the Ivatt look smart for its final year in traffic on it's current ticket!

That’s fine, but I would personally be very happy not to have to drive another Bulleid pacific ever again. You are entitled to your view and I to mine. Perhaps neither of us need to keep repeating it though!

Then this one is for you, "a 2fer" taken in those days when you could still see the line from this spot, and not all the coaches were painted green, (even an NSE one out of shot, although I agree that is not authentic) IMG_20260216_0033.jpg

I am thinking that 10 coaches plus the 47 and the 50 dead on the back would be about right.:)
