No tour booklet in first class on the Blue Peter run. I presumed they hadn't bothered doing one to keep the ticket price down compared to normal Saphos tours

Probably because it's a Wed and those who are still of employment age and don't live near Crewe would require 2 days annual leave

I'd love to book on the Britannia trip but it's work constraints rather than the fare going up £10

£149 for first class unassisted steam is still an absolute bargain

Especially as it's in MK1s which aren't abundant on the network

I wholeheartedly agree with you, I missed plenty of trips when I was working and now as a pensioner I can do these trips, yes £149 is an absolute bargain!!

    Good evening all.

Change of work plans (self employed) means I now have the chance to travel on Wednesday.

If anyone has a spare ticket or tickets please would you be kind enough to drop me a PM? Obviously would pay the full face value of the tickets. Happy to consider either standard or first class.

Are there many members on the SNG run?

Hope it all goes well. Whilst it may be the fastest main line loco currently operational, that won't be on display on this trip. Nevertheless I expect that it will demonstrate that racehorses can also climb hills.

@Big Al This was demonstrated some 62 years on the 26th September 1964 to be precise, when, after the Crewe to Carlisle run with Sir William Stanier, SNG took over for the section over the Waverley route, and yes climbed like the best of them. I know because I was on it.

    Good morning
Still up for buying a ticket or tickets if any late change of plans means anyone is unable to go.

RTT now showing only a five minute stop at Crewe. Has 60007 failed?

Points failure at Northampton has lead to some very slow running between Northampton and Nuneaton (freight ahead and further regulated for Avanti).
On the fast through Nuneaton now

Looks like D9000 screamed along to make up for lost time, and 60007 was quick out the block for the change over and departure from Crewe. Looks like a good day so far!
