Decent chance of Andrew Barclay 1142 returning to steam at Lathalmond/ Shed 47 for the first time in preservation. Boiler has been bolted back in and fitting out has started.

Am I right in thinking 34046 Braunton is due for/has been withdrawn? I think it returned to steam around this sort of time in 2016?

I forgot about the KWVR Gala!:Banghead:

But I'm still fairly sure it returned to steam in 2016 so must be due for withdrawal soon I'd have thought, unless it had a fast track at some point in the last few years?

I'll add a couple off the top of me head:

Standard 5 at the nene valley, 73050 city of peterborough. Currently midway through overhaul & believe they were pushing to get that finished.

Last time I visited there was mention that the swedish b class 4-6-0 number 101A was next in line for restoration to working order.

Other locos, 9F 92214 at gcr, unsure what the current state is.

850 lord nelson, NRM owned but I believe under the care of a group/railway somewhere which was rumoured to be returning to action.

73050 is at least a couple of years away, depending on funding.

850 is at the Mid Hants, or at least it was last time I visited in October. I wasn’t aware it was being overhauled.

My mistake then, I'd heard mutterings that it was gonna get overhauled & return to action.

73050 need half the estimated cost and atleast the top half doing ..i would suggest Derek Crouch in next two years if lucky ,73050 after that .
92214 not started never mind anywhere near finished..777,5305,63601,46521 atleast expected before 92214 .

850 stored awaiting completion of 92212 ,75079 atleast before started .

    Come back in about 2029/30.

Not previously mentioned here (unless I've missed it), 78018 at GCR withdrawn for overhaul, last day in traffic was 22/02/26.

Had 78018 in pinned post but didn't specify when... will mark the ones that have already bowed out.

I have updated the pinned post - ticked off the locos that have already been withdrawn, added boiler tests for the M7 and 46447 and a few withdrawal dates that have been more clear since the set up of this thread.

correct regarding 73050, fundraising for the boiler is ongoing as this still requires a significant sum to get finished.

the plan is to have Derek Crouch operational for the railways 50th anniversary next year
