It's a BG (full brake). No idea about that particular example though...

It's a Brake Gangway, presumably from the dining train based on the livery.

According to the stock list M81410 is a BG Mk1 parcels van. Or as I refer to it as the Christmas Decorations coach.
It has been parked in the sidings at Corfe, so maybe being moved prior to the gala (or part of the freight set:D)

Yes, Corfe-Norden or reverse is £3. Once Blue Pool opens, this ticket will also include services to Blue Pool.

The BG (81410) was floated for conversion to an events vehicle of some kind - I seem to remember this included having a kitchen fitted. Not sure if this is still going ahead or not, others may know more than me about it.

I remember the BCK (21205) running on the dining train but not the BG - happy to be proved wrong though.

In the 11 years we have been here I have never seen it in use with the dining set when that was still opertional.

    Correct.

The BG was used mainly as the Christmas store in platform 1 during the Santa special period each year. It was given a very quick coat of blood and custard one year to cover up the heavily faded maroon that it used to carry.

It’s now in need of a full overhaul of the doors and bodywork. It might get done at some point if a) there’s a business justification and b) the funds are available

Having worked it last year, personally, it will be a pile of rust if any of the above objectives are met.
However, grant aid could repurposes it as an access ability vehicle........

The railway has now updated its timetable up till end of July.

Brining out a Blue green and yellow train timetable with the additonal Blue Pool shuttle.

Excited is a understatment as this will be the first extension of the railways services since the Wareham service in 2017. Plus, hopfuly we are witnessing a sustainable extension.

I do wonder why the green timetable invovles the class 33 between Swanage and Nordon then the extra DMU. On low days surly the DMU coud act as the 2nd train between Swanage and nordon and it then just extends for the extra 5 mins journey to Blue Pool. Prehaps the frequency would have to be reduced from 40 mins to 45 mins just to allow enough time for the added journey

Thanks all for the info about that coach! I was wondering there must be a reason for them to keep it and the santa special as a storagae space makes sense.

Also I am sure I did read about brand new toilets being placed on platofrm 3!? at swanage. And then the current toilets will be gutted to great space for galas and special events. Any news on that !?!
