Wife's birthday this week and nothing I fancied steam hauled dining so treated ourselves to best we could manage on RHDR.

Should have happened Tuesday but RHDR had leaves on the lines issues, trouble is they were still attached to a rather large tree, so we deferred to yesterday.

Hired their heritage coach 'Ruth' for exclusive use, ordered a delux picnic hamper from New Romney and took a small picnic table. 'Ruth' was at the front of the consist right behind the magnificent Samson so poll position! Samson was limited to 15mph due to the fire risk so gently gently.

Result was an excellent day out on the wonderful little railway and the friendly staff were a joy.

It took a bit of organising but thanks RHDR, lovely day and excellent hamper, hope to hear the 'Royal' coach is available soon.
