I must admit here the 47 was doing minimal. Barely noticeable sound. But at Stokesay Castle the 47 was giving it a good push, I suspect much to do with the wet weather there!

34046 replaces 71000 on tomorrows Golden Arrow due to a minor fault with the Duke that can’t be fixed in time

Steam off at Crewe as well, rather than Preston. I'm booked on it so I'll take that as a bit of a consolation prize for not being able to go around the coast.

Is there only the A2 at Crewe currently "in traffic"? Maybe 5029 too?

I'm curious as to why RTT only allows 5 minutes for the loco change at Southall for tomorrow's run, while the WTT gives 48 minutes.

The realtime calculations doesn’t allow for the swap. It thinks it’s simply pathing and the realtime puts it away earlier. It’ll self amend tomorrow.

Thanks - odd that the scheduling didn't include this for all the data outputs, as it was always the plan...

It is the way RTT works. The CME at Preston normally has the same "feature" as did the Buxton trip last week. It was explained on here a couple of months back, forget details nowq.

A very bad day for this working - ever since the traction change at Southall it has lost time badly and is now nearly an hour late. Paths lost all over, but also some odd elements - e.g. despite a train-free route ahead it took an age to get from Purley to Redhill, which meant the 1202 to Tonbridge was let about about two minutes ahead of it at Redhill, which then meant it was stuck behind that and lost more time. It then became embroiled in a swan on the line near Tonbridge! I don't know if 34046 is in poor health, but there has been some seemingly very slow running on several sections for no apparent traffic reasons. Hope the return is better and it's a shame the passengers will have an hour less in Canterbury.

Maybe sometimes, but I have seen traction changes en route dealt with properly by RTT on countless different runs previously.
