Carlisle on Saturday - steam Northern Belle (Tangmere) leaves at 1226 pl 1, the Lakelander arrives 1230 pl 3. Just 4 minutes between them. Going to be a very busy few minutes for the spotters I think!

After a quick shot in the morning of Eddystone, Braunton captured on her treck around Kent, seen at Redhill, Ashford, Walmer on Martin Mill Bank, Folkestone & Hildenborough:

Simply lovely videos. The departure from Woking gives a pretty good example of what to expect as standard in a departure with a diesel at the rear. It seemed to strike the middle ground between doing nothing at the back and assisting as if the train was in Formula 1. At least it gave those in the last coach a chance to hear a bit of action from up front.

Yes, the Woking departure was nicely 'clean', with as far as I could tell, the 47 barely taking its own weight. Being picky, I'm still wondering about 34028's cab-side numbers - they look very 'bold' to me. Otherwise the loco looked exemplary.

Very nice. 34046 didn't seem to be working at all in the Hildenborough scene.

They appear to be missing the black edging, which would make them appear smaller.

Water tanker didn't turn up at Paddock Wood due to a problem getting there, hence, Braunton had to be pushed home to conserve what was left

The gentleman at Swanage who used to set the numerals, sadly passed away a few years ago. He was a stickler for accuracy and quite rightly, was very proud of his results. <BJ>
