    Thank you

The 2nd tender is a good idea you don't have to keep stopping so much

I wondered if it's a new one or a old tender they've done up I bet the A1 will have one soon

A second tender may cut down the need for taking water but there will still be the need for pathing stops so expect tours even with a second tender to involve
    periods of standing still.

Yes, it is Flying Scotsman's old one, however it has had a new tank fitted since it it's time with 4472.

But it seems to have been taken in 2007. I think it came from this forum. Can't remember what Marchington had planned when he owned both Scotsman and Bittern for the although I presume it was for Bittern since Jeremy Hoskins now owns her. Also in the latest Steam Railway Greame Bunker mentions the tender could be used for Tornado but as others say they couldn't do a proper non stop run unless it had a special path like Tornado for the Top Gear Race and as the tender only provides a coverage of 250 miles it would still need to stop for water if it was to go to Edinburgh.

Thanks Dan, it doesn't look that bad unlike the one the King has.

Here's hoping for an interesting run on the 25th [-o<

If I remember correctly, the new tank for the second tender has been constructed using the same profile as a Mk 1 coach and with a central corridor.

    Regards,

It's not so much a corridor as a tunnel, there's a set of steps and then the tunnel crosses the top of the tank. I have a photo with the doors open on it when it was loaned to the PRCLT

Other problems with second tenders/water carriers is weight in that they weigh at least the same as two coaches, bit of a headache on steeply graded routes.
