    We had a visit from the sponsor who has covered the cost of the electrical cubicle's refurbishment. He was massively impressed with the works but most of all the electrical work. Four switches have been stripped and reworked to free off and lubricate the centre shaft.

    You'll know by now that the Sturgeon wagon has been positioned in the car park at Wirksworth, prior to the diesel gala this coming weekend. On it is the class 58 underframe all nicely cleaned up and with markings to demonstrate where cuts need to be made, in order for it to follow the curve of a class D16/1.

    This weekend, August 7th-9th, the underframe will be on display at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway's diesel gala. It has been marked out to identify cuts required so it will have the shape of a D16/1.
