Back in March 1999 80098 ran an evening railtour named The Night Owl, which was a circular trip from Nottingham to Sheffield, (out via Barrow Hiil and return via Dronfield). It was originally supposed to be an ECS run to test out a new spark arrestor, but was opened up to the public. I remember it being a very enjoyable evening out.

I think that spark arresting has always been a key element of a FTR exam. I wouldn't be surprised if Network Rail is building up a list of main line locos and their individual success in containing what they produce. 6024 would be quite a test, I think.
