Exciting news from the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway this weekend. Also we should have Welsh Pony visiting with some vintage carriages.

590 was out on test today and all is looking good for this weekend. It hauls the first train on Saturday 10:15 off Porthmadog.

Must be the first time (apart from testing) that 590 has hauled an air-braked passenger train. Looks very much at home at PYM Junction

Great to see 590 out, I saw it in one of the sheds about 18 months ago when one of the volunteers kindly took us round.

I'll try and get a visit in for the event in September all being well to see it running.

Very happy to see the cooperative working with the FR too. HOpefully a portent for the future and no more animosity

Wasn't the hatchet buried some time ago?

It was. And then, for a few years, it was unburied. Now it appears to be buried again...and we all hope it will stay that way!

Just back from a brilliant 10 night stay at the Haven Greenacres site in Porthmadog which allowed for plenty of filming at the F&WHR. We had a superb week weather wise, just a bit too hot on a couple of days! Massive thanks to all the staff and volunteers across the rasilway who were all so kind and helpful, particularly given the hot weather. We travelled twice on the Woodland Wanderer on our first Saturday and last Sunday, a very kind station staff member on the first Saturday and the guard on the second Sunday opened up the rear observation coach for our party of 6 so we could enjoy the views and it also gave more room for our youngest to stretch out which was much appreciated. GM Paul was driving Lyd on the Whistling Dragon at Caernarfon on the Thursday and he was very kind in letting everyone have their photo taken in the cab of Lyd before departure, including my eldest Harry even though we weren't travelling that day.

My video linked below, edited in time of day sequence from all footage filmed over the 9 days with some sequences filmed over two days. Locations around Porthmadog, Caernarfon, Beddgelert, Minffordd, Penryhn, Tan-y-Bwlch and Tanygrisiau.
