Road now reopened and fully marked out. Plans afoot to connect the crossing to the Robertsbridge side of it.

Rother Valley Railway locomotive 'Charwelton' recently moved to the Avon Valley Railway in preparation for testing and commissioning prior to its return to service at K&ESR. Its rebuild has included a new 180psi boiler, new cylinders & tyres along with a chassis overhaul. Thats at:

Also work underway to sort out the trackbed etc on the Robertsbridge Station side of the new Northbridge Street level crossing is at:

Hi Mike, both projects are looking so impressive right now. Do you have a timeline for Charwelton's return to Kent?

touché point taken; you can never hurry things like this; far better to do it correctly once rather than going back a few times

With the steam ban still in full affect across most railways, I decided to try something a little different and take a look at the latest developments regarding the extension. Was very good to see large amounts of work taking place in person, takes me back a little to when Bluebell were extending back to East Grinstead.

Video is below if anyone is interested ☺️
