    Some on here may have been aware of the rumours about 4150 that had been circulating for some time. However, as discussed at yesterday's AGM and confirmed by email to Members this morning:

    "The good news is that at 20:58 on the eve of our AGM the final piece of the puzzle dropped into place and a running agreement was approved by all concerned. This secures 4150s long term future on the Valley and puts an end to the seemingly endless speculation."

    I've just enjoyed 80 miles of steam haulage today behind Erlestoke Manor at the WSR. It is a superb locomotive and handled the banks with ease. It certainly is a very popular loco with the WSR crews. [BJ]

    Does anyone know the mechanical condition of pannier tank 5764 as it’s been out of traffic since 2011. How much work would be involved to restore it?

    In a similar vein, does the SVR still have a spare 57xx pannier boiler and set of wheels?

    There is definitely a spare Pannier boiler. There was a bit of swapping around 10-2p years ago I think. From the Pannier scrapped at Barry. Not sure how much else is there.

    The spare pannier boiler is in bridgnorth yard as it has been since it came off 7714. I don't think any work has been undertaken on it.

    On a separate note, 4150 hauled it's first passenger train in preservation today, double heading with 7714.

    After having a little play when it visited the Bluebell, it left me very impressed and entirely sold on the Manor class! (Though I've anecdotally heard that 7802 is considered the better loco)
