The Saint is a lovely loco. Even though I am of GWR persuasion, I have no interest in the Hawksworth County or the Night Owl.

From memory 2999 is booked out next weekend on the ’B’ turn - after that it has no planned use.

It's certainly the last weekend for the Class 33 before goes back to the Severn Valley and it's been mentioned in this thread that the low loader will be used to turn 80151 as well.

Tom, you left a few words there, I imagine you meant to write; your "love" all things Swindon, but only when their tail light is seen as they depart from the Southern Region . . . ;)

Yes, we managed a run behind 2999 on the 1800 from SP. Kudos to the bluebell team for solving the issue and getting her back out for a spirited run.

Love the late evening running available at the beer festival - which was our first one and won’t be our last. Such a fabulous atmosphere at every station, in particular the Goods Yard at Kingscote. Such a beautiful space and was humming with life with people enjoying beer, crepes and music!

In other news, congratulations to the Bluebell on Thursday night, for winning at the National Rail Awards for the Regional Railway 200 Event category!

Lovely noisy run with loads of sparks behind 2999 back to East Grinstead .
The first Bluebell Beer festival was in 2020 and I have been to them all.
Another very enjoyable event.Rhanks to all those involved.

If that is the case, I was ill informed by the crew of the 73! Kudos to the engineers for fixing it in time for the final trip today - was an equally good (if slightly more sedated than usual) round trip.

Next visit is for Giants in a few weeks time - find myself wondering if the lineup will be as busy this year as it was last?

Yes, I have reason to believe that Lady of Legend will continue in service at the Bluebell for a little while longer (we're talking week or two, not more than that).

I secretly hope that it dies so we get something nice tomorrow e.g. the H2 or the 4MT or the Bulleid.
