This event saw a "First" with two Windcutter rakes running. If anyone has a picture showing both in action, could they send it to the Windcutter team (via NP) if they are happy for us to use it (- with suitable acknowledgement). I believe sometime they crossed just North of Quorn station ?
    Thanks in advance.

I think you and I must have visited a different Severn Valley gala...that was very busy this year, notably many younger attendees and families. I have noticed a lot more younger enthusiasts attending in recent years and they are far less partisan - they like trains, diesel or steam!

I've heard from other people that the Saturday of the SVR diesel gala at the weekend was poorly attended in comparison to previous years. There wasn't much in competition, but it was a home fleet gala (with 47804 from WCRC). Too many shuttles and not enough full line trips being the main complaint.

I was referring to the steam gala, but this year's diesel gala was always advertised as a home fleet event, so it did not incur any transport costs. The WCR 47 stayed on as a last minute visitor after accompanying Scots Guardsman down, so presumably just a hire fee.

Another excellent and unique steam gala from the G.C.R. Loughborough lads featuring 9862 Newstead 3F jinty 16440 sentinel tank Ann J94 68067 standard 5 73156 Class 45 D123 and the Teddy bear class 14.
My favourite train of the day on Saturday was the 3F 16440 and hudswell clarke 1589 Newstead and made the most of this I had a full English breakfast on the griddle bar and yes enjoyed the port Talbot 813 hudswell clarke saddle tank and pannier double header as I could only do this from Quorn and Woodhouse is I broke my journey to go look at the loco new build groups what OO gauge engines were been sold as I was considering buying my dad a hornby triang one for Xmas unfortunately they only had digital Chinese hornby locos. All in all though another jolly good show from the G.C.R. despite Saturdays timetable slipping a bit by 10 minutes.
