34067 is cleared to Whitby. But I am aware of long standing concerns at NYMR as to pacific locos going round some of the curves on the Whitby line. Of course a WC has a different trailing truck to an A4!

£40 off Friday's tour with code ESK, from an email just received from RTC. Valid in all classes.

Belief is that both No. 45407 and 44871 are to remain at Fort William until end of season, returning with ECS on Sunday 25th.

Information was given middle of last week, so who knows if that'll change before Friday. However, a path for the 25/10 movement is in the system.

Also different to previous years in that steam doesn’t lead from Whitby it leads to Whitby

The timings look like a decent day out from York but a bit of a mission from elsewhere. However 90 minutes at your destination barely gives you time for lunch!

1Z67 as the starting train reporting number strongly suggests Tangmere. Not much else it could have been really I suppose?

Don't need lunch when you've had two hours to have breakfast in York!

Photo posted on RailUK Forums showing 46115 with the Railway Touring Company headboard at Carnforth, apparently taken this morning.

The plot thickens ahead of tomorrow's Whitby trip.

It's gonna be very interesting to see indeed what ends up leaving Carnforth tomorrow morning. It is especially odd that the railtour still hasn't got a locomotive attached to it publicly. Surely those on it must have been sent their travel documents with the locomotive assigned to the trip on it so someone must know.

Dunno, there was someone on Facebook who is on it, asking if anyone had a clue what was hauling it which would suggest that passengers are unaware, possibly rename it the magical mystery tour.

FWIW if I were a betting man I'd probably still go for Tangmere or diesel.

Agreed. But if it ends up being Scots Guardman, this changes everything.

Totally, but for that to be the case either stock has been sorted or she has gained air brakes in the last couple of weeks, both of which one would expect to have required a test run to make sure the installations worked?

CDL surely doesn’t require a test unless it’s a brand new type. If it’s just the standard CDL, then surely it’s RA

The fitting of an air pump and combined brake valve does.

The VT installation from memory wasn't subject to a test run . Testing could be done static on site
