What’s going on with Lizzie or the rest of the WCR fleet is really none of our business, just be thankful at some time in the future the big red beast will be back. A few years ago the future was looking very bleak.

Not strictly true in the case of 6201 John as there is a Society of supporters and active public fundraising so there are people with a "right to know" in a sense.
I was simply responding to the earlier enquiry from the night owl anyway.

I meant none of our business if we aren’t associated with WC or the PL Society

I agree there isn't any obligation to share information outside the two organisations.
On the other hand there's no escape from curiosity and speculation given it's a forum for enthusiasts as well as the wider railway press interest to feed.
No different from football fans speculating about who their clubs might sell and sign I suppose. In both cases news will reach the public domain when the respective parties are ready and not before. If you want to know sooner join PELS or offer your services to CRRES/WC.

Agree. "Lizzie" was purchased for preservation and a society formed to care for and raise funds for her. Interestingly LOCOMOTIVE "6201 PRINCESS ELIZABETH" SOCIETY LIMITED people - Find and update company information - GOV.UK Clive Mojonnier, a name I always associate with "Lizzie" is still listed as a director.

So with the welcome return of the 10A fleet to mainline action, would the active fleet be as follows? What are the status of the ones I've questioned? (I realise that information maybe classified!)
    Operational:
    46115
    48151
    44932
    45699
    34067

    45110 (heritage line only use)

    Out of Service:

35018 now out of ticket? Under overhaul?

6201 & 62005 known to be under overhaul.

    45690 under overhaul?
    44767 under overhaul?

76017 and 34016 may also be present and under overhaul or stored? 45593 Kolhapur also made the trip north in 2024 at a similar time to 45110..

When you look at the list above it really becomes apparent what we have been missing...

45690 and 44767 both under overhaul. I think Leander is likely to be back in 2028.

Pleased to hear about Leander, Chris Beet was quoted as being not fully committed to an overhaul when she was withdrawn.
