Unfortunately 55009 Alycidon will not be available for traffic at the NVR this coming weekend 25/26th July.
Over the course of the last three months intensive shakedown testing a few minor issues have arisen and these will be rectified when the loco returns to Barrow Hill.

I'd agree, although I believe the NVR has also disposed of some of its continental coaches in recent years?

Still a good few there and I think one was even restored recently?

About 10 vehicles I think, though not all are operational.

I'm visiting the railway on Sunday to see 6024. Am I right that it's just 6024 running and also, how long roughly does it take to walk between the NR and NVR stations?

Haven't travelled over the NVR yet so looking forward to visiting (though I have briefly visited Wansford station on the way to a holiday in Pickering, but that was nearly 30 years ago now!

Yes, just 6024 booked out - timetable is on the website. Allow about 20 minutes to walk between them if you walk at a reasonable speed. I think the footbridge next to Railworld only allows access between the two halves of the site now and not general access across the river. You can walk through the car park at Peterborough station to knock a few minutes off, then use the footbridge behind Asda to cross the Nene.

Very enjoyable first proper visit to the railway today. Blue Circle running up and down in the loco yard was a nice surprise, I think it was doing footplate rides, haven't seen it since the Bluebell's 50th Anniversary Gala in 2010.

The railway was also very busy and plenty of families around so hopefully it's been a very profitable weekend for the railway.

I did see that Tom Scott (for those unaware, a very popular Youtuber with over 6 million subscribers, recently released a video visiting the railway and telling the story of the line's 'Thomas' because of the usual nature of the loco being named by Wilbert Awdry and navigating Thomas licensing)

I posted a couple of pictures in the King Edward I thread, so I'll post a Blue Circle one here.

Given that the day started nearly 40 minutes down, they did well to end it just 5 late. I walked from Wansford to Longville Jn and back again, but was followed by cloud for the most part. I'd forgotten how tricky a line it is to photograph aside from a few spots that everyone goes to. Nevertheless an enjoyable day had.
