45231 possibly- saw some pictures of it looking like it had been prepped for a boiler lift not long ago.

According to the latest issue of Trackside, work is heavily focused on the overhaul of Bittern, with goal being for the loco to return in 2028.

I hope it won't be too long before attention turns to either 35022 or 35027 - or better still, both of them!

What's that going to do to 60007, they will only have so much work for an A4 plus she will lose her uniqueness draw on the main line?

But imagine a tour that was double-headed by 60007 and 60019. That would definitely sell out.

The information I posted about 4464 was part of a piece on both of LSL's Merchant's, following the news about 35025.

Unfortunately LSL say there are no plans for either locomotive, and that the focus is on 4464, with 45231 and 46100 being queued up behind it.

I believe as part of the arrangement between the SNG trust and LSL is that they have to give SNG a certain number of trips each year so if anything it'd be Bittern that'd suffer more if there aren't enough tours available for it. But I'm sure there will be, plus I'm sure it'll go on the heritage line scene too.

The SLL website seems to suggest 35022 is at Riley's, although that may be outdated info: https://southern-locomotives.co.uk/Overview/Locomotive_Overview.html

It would make a certain degree of sense though, given that the restoration of 35009 seems to have moved up a gear and is being done in collaboration with the restoration of 35025 for some areas - they've mentioned the dragbox so far. Whether this arrangement carries over to the new custodians of 35025 is anyone's guess.

I think they're both still on an industrial park in Crewe.

Yeah, Wikipedia suggests that 35027 went to Riley's about 2011 with 35022's boiler, although clearly nothing came of it.

Maybe LSL views Braunton as their representative Bulleid and they are not in a hurry to add another one even if it is a Merchant.

There isn't any mention of plans for 34046 post withdrawal in the story, just that with the existing commitments and fleet size the Merchants aren't in their plans.

I think someone said on here 34046 needs a lot of work doing to it and that it'll go on display in the One:One Collection in Margate when it's ticket expires and 46100 will head back up to Crewe.

I think 60007 will be close to being withdrawn for it's own overhaul by the time 4464 is ready (2029 I think for 60007?) and some other members of the LSL fleet would probably have been withdrawn by then too (34046 and possibly 61306 and 70000).

Given 60007 is being used relatively lightly, might it recieve a late-ticket retube to see it run an extra few years to give an overlap with 4464.

I seem to recall there was a desire for LSL to be able to run tours with 2 A4s on different legs.
