    The latest issue of Trackside has a report that suggests 45110 could be heading back to it's old home, the Severn Valley Railway to help out with their Winter/Christmas services as they are currently short of suitable motive power (Class 4 and above). The SVR will not have the Stanier Mogul available for use as that is going ML and they are currently trying to find a tender to use with 4930.

    If we stick to that rule it really limits the chances of those who were actually present at the original event getting to celebrate it again this side of the mystic veil!

    I thought the Stanier Mogul was to do some main line trips but still be available for use on the SVR for much of the time.

    I suspect (but not sure this has been confirmed yet?) that the Mogul is to be used on the Polar Express trips, so both things are true in this instance. She will still be available for SVR use most of the time (11 months of the year!), but in December she will be somewhat preoccupied..

    The Polar Express trips are the only thing that make financial sense for both parties to make the significant investment in the mainline equipment necessary.
