......and why not, of course. It was good to see Eddystone out and about on the Bournemouth route and although a long day with a rather tortuously long pull back, everything seems to have gone to plan.

Let's hope that Eddystone will be around for other Sussex/Kent trips over the coming month.

Elm Road bridge. I know it well. That footpath on the left remains a half decent vantage point but like everywhere else time has not been helpful with the vegetation.

Hardly just a record shot - a nice scene (do you live nearby I wonder?). My late father took me train-spotting at that bridge as a child, when we lived in New Malden. My first-ever unit 'marked off' was a 4CEP, I recall, from the period when some were on loan to the SWD, I believe. One little thing from the video amuses - the woman striding across the bridge ignores the train completely! I found the same at Byfleet yesterday where two women were chatting on the other platform and didn't even turn for the noisy steam passing! It never ceases to amaze me how unobservant (or just plain uninterested in the unusual) so many people are.

Indeed so. A tiny point - in replying here I see that your post was no. 2,999,999. Impressive that this forum has had so many, or do the post numbers not start from 1?
