Does that make you eligible for Premium fares?

I express no opinion on whether or not this will perhaps back-fire with customers, but this is the same group of people who decided to turn a loan of £300K to the Trust into an operating profit for the PLC. Compared to that, selling thing A for £X at one point, and for £Y at another point (something that a large share of large companies seem to do nowadays - heck, there are even businesses now that look for those variances for people, like Trivago and KAYAK) is 'in the noise'.

If I've read it correctly, it's worse than that -it's a £500,000 grant from the trust to the PLC, plus there's an extra £100,000 added to a previous £300,000 loan from a member.

The £300K loan I noticed was to the Trust; that presumably provided a large part of the £500K grant from the Trust to the PLC. (Your post can be read to indicate that the £300K loan was to the PLC; it wasn't.) In other words, the loan and grant didn't sum; the former seems to have turned into the latter.

9F 92134 is listed for Great Central Railway's Last Hurrah Gala in November.

Wonder if they are hiring it again over winter?

Leaking crown stays in the firebox, so I'm informed. Unlikely now to see any service this visit as repairs unlikely before Wednesday at the earliest.
I paid a visit to the Railway today which didn't go exactly as I'd hoped it would. I should have done a bit more than simply look at the timetable on the website. My intention was to catch the 10.55 ex Pickering which is advertised as normally steam and has recently been the LNER Teaks. I was therefore suprised to find the NER Railcar in the platform and already pretty full. Talking to the guard, I was told that the Teaks are going to be used on the Ghost trains and are being prepared for that. The services planned for 60007 were being hauled by 926 which had been taken from the Grosmont Whitby turn to compensate for the lack of 60007. They were pretty full so I hope that there wasn't too much disappointment. The only other operational steam loco was 44806. 29 was dead on New Bridge and 2253, 2392D, 4079 and 60007 were all dead on shed at Grosmont.
I chatted to quite a few people, both volunteer and paid staff and there was certainly an air of 'it couldn't get much worse." At one point, the conversation came around to the subject of the Santa services. The lack of Grosmont Santas once again was bemoaned, as was the fact that all the 'entertainment' is now provided by paid actors rather than the volunteers of old. I was shown a photo of last years gift, which was a golden key and some chocolate, which apparently matched the theme of the entertainment. Certainly not very exciting for young children, in my opinion. Coincidentally, on my return journey, some other passengers sat near to me were talking quite loudly about previous visits to the Railway and one said that they had come the year before (2024?) and had paid £150 for 4 adults and their grandson. They were quite critical of the 'Santa' who they said had no idea of how to interact with young children and had actually frightened their grandson. They certainly thought that what they got did not match the price that they had paid.
The oil fired S160 was discussed. I gather that it isn't perfprming as hoped, both in terms of gallons/mile and other things. At least two drivers I spoke to said that they wouldn't go on it in its present condition. Another topic of conversation was the state of the track which was thought by one driver to be deplorable, both as to condition and the amount of weeds. The one bright spot was the suggestion made by several that the new Trust chairman elect (John Philip) is hoping to change attitudes and ideas. However, whether he can change these with those in power remains to be seen.

@Steve do you know if 60007's services (with 926) were still only for pre-booked "charter" tickets today or open for the general public? The services are listed on the loco roster web page, but nothing about them being for ticket holders, and there's nothing on the website now about what's happening with tomorrow's workings. It's not inconceivable that a lot of people won't have heard about 60007's unfortunate failure and turn up in the morning for the 09.55, find it's cancelled, and then discover the next service is the autocar with only 100 seats!

I was there today for a planned day on 926 and 44806 .On arriving at Pickering and seeing the 60007 news I was on Goathland platform as 926 arrived with station staff annnouncing it was for special ticket holders only .
The first few carriages were probably 75% full .
I returned to a cold 37688 to Pickering and Grosmont ,for a return trip on 44806 which (at around 37 minutes from Levisham to Goathland ) was painful .
31128 to Whitby and back to then find 37688 replaced 44806 on the 1925 arrival into Pickering ..
Both 926 and 44806 are at Grosmont tonight ,so the 0920 will be cold with 37688 .I’m sure all those paying around £50 a ticket will find that acceptable and recommend the line to their friends and family .
I doubt I’ll now be back before the season ends ,ELR ,KWVR and GCR can all manage to roster in advance accurately and provide heated trains ..not finish 45 minutes late on a cold train on a dark ,damp October evening …

I've nothing official but, as I understand things, the 'Gresley' trains will be running tomorrow, albeit with 926, which will go through LE, as Gresley would have done. They are specials but don't know whether they'll now allow the general public on, as well. 44806 should do the Grosmont 'Whitby' turn (G1) and 2253 the diner. Pebbles will be on the P1 turn all the way through to Whitby and the Autocar the P2 turn.

There's over a mile of 10mph PWS between Goathland & Levisham due to 'condition of track'. It is scheduled to take 35 minutes. I was on the up train and thought it was a reasonable run, all things considered.
