Like Karl and John, I was more than happy to return to the West Highlands for a bit of glorious sunshine on Sunday and Monday. No place is better than our Highlands in autumn colours:

No. 45407 at Craigag Wetlands, Sgùrr Ghiubhsachain as a wonderful backdrop - Monday 19th

No. 45407 rounding the mountainsides above Loch Eilt, a rockslide fence removed in photoshop - Monday 19th

No. 45407 works towards Morar level crossing, Loch Morar in the distance - Monday 19th

And as a bit of a bonus for Scottish Steam, No. 46512 and 46464 were both out at Strathspey on Saturday. A rare autumn path of a 4pm departure from Aviemore meant the chance for something a bit special of the ex Carmyllie Pilot:

No. 46512 at Tullochgorum with the first service of the day - Saturday 17th

No. 46464 departs Boat of Garten with the 4pm ex Aviemore - Saturday 17th

And then on Sunday, post Jacobite chasing, the last run at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway with visiting A1 No. 60163 'Tornado'

Scotland, no better place to be!
