73129 now back in service at Cambrian Heritage Railways. [IMG]

It was out of use since early July due to a change of ownership (It previously being owned by one individual). CHR had to wait for the sale to complete and a new loan agreement negotiated with the new owners (Vulcan Rail Ltd).

Edited to correct the ownership name.

No I do not currently volunteer
Thats some good news. I remember a flurry of comments asking where it was going as it was intimated that it was working its last train at the start of the summer. I see the Barclay is on the home straight too.

All the big bits are now back on Barclay 2261 frames, they're working on the plumbing. :)

Well it's all taken far longer than expected, but . . . (quote from CHR facebook page)

"Some fantastic breaking news from CHR's engineering team... after a visit from the boiler inspector resident steam engine 2261 has been cleared for traffic!
This is brilliant news as we kick start our half term trains from tomorrow!
Join us this weekend as we operate steam trains between Oswestry & Weston Wharf.
Saturday 24th October 2026 - Andrew Barclay '2261' returns and will be hauling our heritage coaches between Oswestry and Weston Wharf on a Timetable A, Services start at 1100 from Oswestry last train back from Weston Wharf will be 1610.
Sunday 25th October 2026 - Andrew Barclay '2261' will be hauling our heritage coaches between Oswestry and Weston Wharf on a Timetable A, Services start at 1100 from Oswestry last train back from Weston Wharf will be 1610."

I'll be on our Ruston 165DE 'Alun Evans' on the next couple of Sundays, so if you are visiting on those days, do say hello. :)
