A great and rather upbeat assessment of the commuting pilot.

It is to be hoped that the decision about future operation will take due account of those considerations, which all imply that long-term viability should be significantly better than indicated by the passenger numbers during the trial.

I’d have said ‘could’ rather than ‘should’ - awkward thing about that is it might suggest the case hasn’t been proven so what’s needed is funding for another, longer, trial.

Latest I have heard, is a proposal to run the Parry People Mover on service linking Bewdley to Stourbridge Town. That would of course require a new set of points at Stourbridge Junction and removal of the small maintenance shed, possibly to Bewdley.

From what I've heard of that, I suspect there may be some minor issues over crashworthiness to deal with, which are why the Stourbridge Town branch is locked off so rigorously from the main network.

They also only weigh about 12 tonnes so will struggle to activate track circuits. There's also the small matter of them only being capable of 20mph.
