    Hi all

Having just looked up the new tours for this autumn, its nice to see that Vintage Trains are planning a few different destinations like Blackpool and St Albans for example. A wide range of motive power on offer too for various trips, should also attract more bookings instead of travelling on engines which customers have been on over the same route before. It certainly makes it a hard decision on which to go on though doesnt it, They are all good!

There certainly are some interesting trips to consider, however I too wonder why they cannot include even estimated timings. All other operators do and if your travelling a distance to join up, you do need a vague idea of the departure time etc. Even when phoning them they are very reluctant to even give an indication of what the possible time might be, which is rather frustrating.
If they could correct that then they certainly would be on to a winner in my book.

I suspect it's to save publishing what times they expect to get and then getting grief from the public when the path Network Rail give them is nothing like what was requested.

Supposing the guessed timings were doable for you and the actual were not ?, what would be gained by guessed timings ?.

I guess its a case of better being safe than sorry i suppose. Timings and route changes fairly late on in the stages often wind travellers up, but its not the tour companies fault who allways take the flak as a result. Its probably best to let the customers decide on whether they want to go ahead with the trip regardless on what time it rolls in or arrives back as you can occasionaly work around it, but if travelling long distances to get there....it maybe helpfull just to give an approximate departure or arrival home on what they have requested to Network Rail.
