Great guest! I haven't been to Chinnor since 2017 and have been really keen to go back while the S160's there having had to drop out of a trip for last year's steam gala due to work last minute, so I'm very keen for this, perhaps as a bit of a road trip with the Dean Forest event that weekend as well.

9F 92134 announced as the final guest!
A cracking addition in my opinion.

There are pictures on Facebook showing the 9F's tender arriving at Chinnor. Can't link to the pictures as they are on a private page.

Please note, all remaining services today will be handled by 92134 and 6046. Lady of legend requires some tlc and it is hoped to be back in traffic for tomorrow

Update from the Chinnor Facebook page

Saint update. Didcot fitters are carrying out a repair to loco very early in the morning. Therefore 2999 will not be out in the morning and again, the fabulous S160 and stunning 9F will share the duties. It is anticipated that the Saint will feature in the afternoon and will make best endeavours to pick the original loco slots up. The guard will make onboard announcements when updates are available. Subject to usual caveats, Sunday loco allocations should be as advertised.

Enjoyable day at the gala today. As my local line, it's nice to be able to have a gentle mid-morning start, get a few rides in, and still be home before dark.
Timed my arrival at Princes Risborough. just right to get a brake van ride behind Joyce, which was a first for me, and her former owner was on board giving a mini-talk on how she worked, which was a nice touch.

The event seemed to be very popular with most trains well filled, even with a longer rake that had coaches off the platform at Chinnor.
It's just a shame that the site at Chinnor is so compact that it can feel a bit congested at times, especially around the crossing. Having a second catering van certainly was a good idea though.

Lady of Legend seemed to be receiving some attention at Princes Risborough at lunchtime, but then hauled her booked trains and was certainly making a lot of noise up the banks. The 9F and S160 were also putting in good performances. It's quite a shift from what was always a 'tank engine on 3-4 coaches' line in the past.

Very friendly volunteers as always and my dog certainly enjoyed the free treats from them.

Thanks to all who put on the event, hopefully it's a success for the railway.
