All to plan so far this morning, for the record 5972 is wearing the Olton Hall plates and the standard Shakespeare Express headboard.

Sorry to report 5972 isn't the magical engine the Harry Potter films make out. She flatly refused to water herself at Stratford on either run. 8-[ 8-[ 8-[
However on the second run back to Snow Hill she did live up to the reputation of some pretty lively running that the SE has become known for. =D> =D>
Next week it's back to normal service with 5043.
Oh and by the way she does look better 'in the flesh'.
Alistair how about painting 4965 red? Ah well that's me sacked then. :smt003 :smt003

I deliberatly went for Black & White as from that angle it looks for all the world like BR Green ;) , guess you saw it on the Lunchtime run at Tyseley Rick as it was chucking it down in the evening!, in two minds whether or not to bother with that pic.

Loadings certainly 90% + which can't be bad, red loco or not.

At least some of you got results, I was unable to be out for the first run so I did Olton Station as the sky looked clear over there. Fine when I first got there no rain at all, then just prior to Olton arriving the heavens opened and chucked it down in monsoon style. Best I could do was this http://michaelsgallery.fpic.co.uk/p59697661.html ISO was on auto and RAW phot info shows 3200 ISO F4.5 speed 80, I never was or will be good at night photography.

    Nice shots everyone =D> =D> .
Believe it or not we really do appreciate the efforts of the linesiders, who give us a different perspective on our 'handiwork'.
After all we are too up close and personal to see 'the bigger picture'.

Olton was sure going at good rate of knots through Olton Station and plenty of clag to choke the onlookers there.

I'm sure that was due to the very low cloud cover not allowing the smoke to rise upwards into the atmosphere........on the other hand [-( [-( [-( [-(

Lickey, I actually think this is one of those so called 'evocative' photos which could actually be a painting. Excellent...like it. And I'm sure you didn't really mind getting a good soaking !

As I was trying to enhance the pictures in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, some of the results due to the amount of noise due to high ISO, I thought resembled something that might have been painted by Monet.

Mike, after looking at your shot a second time I must agree with royals pete it really is quite evocative, and could quite easily be mistaken for a water colour. =D> =D>
Sorry for the terrible pun, and hope you didn't get too wet.
As I've said before we support crew really do appreciate all your efforts.
