    I like that shot - some subtle backlighting there and nice composition with the water in the foreground. You found better light than I did for 5043 at Brill on Saturday.

    Lovely! :) I'm curious as to whether the corner images or the bridge images came out better seen as though have the crowd disappeared. The curve one has some fantastic background light :) Great stuff! Keep em coming....

    I take it you were on the train. Must have stood pretty close to each other at times. Some nice pics but your final one is of her about to head *south* to Ais Gill, not north. :smt002

    It was a good day out wasn't it? I was in Coach J minding the laptop with mapping software and input from GPS, tracking us all the way.

    And thanks for the compliments about my pictures, and for the geographical correction - now amended!

    So that was you with the laptop then. I spent the whole of the northbound run in coach H - oddly marshalled ahead of coach J - with my sound recording gear. I happen to know one of the stewards via our mutual interest in sound recording but sadly even he couldn't swing it for me to be anywhere near the front on the return journey. Big Boss say no.

    Thanks for the comment and info Peter. Certainly not full out thrash as was observed over Shap on the GB2 or Ais Gill back in February but maybe 6100 will provide me with
    the full blooded Royal Scot roar when she finally makes it onto the main line. Not sure when my next S&C trip will be but I'm behind 6233 over Shap in October so looking for
    some good sounds there.

    Yes that is a fine clip, one thing I noticed was that the speed seems to stay very constant for the whole time.
