    This assumes that reports of there being a mortgage on the loco
    are correct. When we were looking at a loan for completing 34081, not
    needed in the end, the bank would not take the loco as security
    and a group of members had to stand as guarantors.

    Good luck to him. Got a right dog of a loco by all accounts. Still seems strange after all this time that the lottery paid for an engine to;
    a; be restored to the Main Line for a Museum,
    b; to further the education and employment opportunities at Bressingham,

    Given that it has not been on the mainline yet, and is now privately owned, I hope that OUR lottery money will be requested to be repaid!

    There are tales going around that she will be out on the main line in October, but I hasten to add my source is not 100% reliable but you never know.

    LAst i heard the centre cylinder rear cover had been broken, and the boiler had issues (sieve like qualities). Also the air braking was incomplete, as was TPWS etc.

    Don't know where you got your boiler info from. It was one of the better things when we had it at Llan. The air brakes, mainline equipment was incomplete then as at the time she didn't need them to work at both our line and WSR before and so Crewe had concentrated on other more important jobs.

    It is not my understanding that 6100 is privately owned. A new Trust has been established of which Jeremy Hoskins is a Trustee. From what has been said, a major sum of money must have been given to the Trust to clear the bank's interest and re-imburse Bressingham for their major financial contribution to the overhaul. Putting two and two together, one can guess where this money has come from but the loco is still owned by a Trust, just not the one that owned it before.

    I understand she will be working out of Southall. As to the route, I guess it will be on the same one to Bristol that 60019 used when she was undergoing trials.

    Just as I thought another unsubstantiated claim. Such a shame that there is not more positive comments regarding this fine engine being returned to steam.

    A fine locomotive she may be , but she had to be removed from Southall to get her finished so as not to breach the HLF deadline , worked at the WSR albeit heavily off beat and despite fire damage , appeared at SSS2 and apart from an appearance or two at Crewe hasn't been seen since. In the meantime the Banks have looked for security and benefactor(s) have had to bail her out of her current pickle.

    The parties concerned have maintained a dignified silence as to her condition but the rumours persist unlike any other recently returned to steam loco. That very lack of activity speaks very loudly indeed and I hope that the facts do come out in time

    6100 "heavily off beat" at the WSR. That's the first time I've read that. Have you got a source, or even a YouTube link, to show that?

    I have it on good authority from a well respected engineman who has seen it first hand. I also have some very interesting photos of some very suspect work carried out on it after it left BSM

    Please could you refresh my memory as to where it went after BSM? And anyway does it matter, I thought a fair amount of remedial work had been carried out by Pete Waterman although it is clear that this didn't extend to the problems with the valve events.

    Regards
