I like to see most locos dirty but with all that brass and green paint I think it should be clean. I also think the N2 should be clean. The rest shouldn be left as far as I'm concerned. Unfortunately as an engine cleaner that is part of my duties and as we are a tourist line rather than enthusiast line we need to keep them reasonably clean as that is what joe public wants. Of course the gala is completely different as different people go to it from our normal holiday maker.

WD's were made to be dirty - if it was still alive I'm sure it would be filthy!

City of Turuo doesnt half look rough... When we had it the first time, never seen an engine so clean (well apart from Mayflower). Obviously not cared for like she was just after overhaul and the noveltys worn off!

Looks to be a great timetable :) Are the loco allocations being published in some form of booklet?

I am sorry for the delay (sounds just like work this week!!) in publishing the timetable, but after the failure of 5521 last Monday I wanted to make sure the info that went out was as right as I could get it. I have only just finished typing out the crew diagrams and working timetables!!! The line up is as follows :-
N2, N7, J15, 6619, 5521, 3440, 1982 and 24081. The first run with 1744 and the quads is 12.13 off Sheringhan on Friday. I have the BYP available to go on the quads - opinions please before it goes on, what would you, the visitors prefer??

I was surprised that 3440 was so dirty. As has been said, the first time it was here you could eat your dinner off the boiler clading, but it looks tired now.

I am looking forward to the weekend, and seeing you all over the course of the weekend.

Forgive my ignorance, but what's the BYP? And thanks for the reply regarding the timetable :)

Go to agree that Truro looked very uncared for when it arrived but the lads at Weybourne have been hard at it and have made a big improvement.

    Hi,

My preference would be to have the BYP at the Sheringham end of the Quads as per last year (see attached photo). This way when the N2 is smokebox first the Quads are right behind the loco with the brake against the bunker as it would always have been out of King's X.

    Cheers

    Steve Allen

Does anyone know if the WTT (with loco diagrams) will be available before the event?

Not long to go now, really looking forward to it.

I'm with Steve on this one Mark. Put it on the Sheringham end, which of course puts a guards van at the back of the train all the time...
