What a waste of time! To view pictures on this site you have register/login. I have registered & activated my account, but it still will not let me view the pictures! I do not have sufficient permissions or something?
By the way, why do various sites, including this one, make you type in stupid unreadable fancy letters & numbers when you register?

Those are an attempt to stop automated spammers registering on the site. Character recognition systems cannot read them as they do not yet have the capability of the human brain to decipher them.
Which is why the police get upset with those who use different fonts on their car reg plates. Although humans can read them off photographs from speed cameras, the equipment used to check on vehicle details, ie if they are taxed, insured and MoT'd, ANPR, cannot.

Must be something wrong with my brain then, I have a job to read these figures & need several attempts to get it right.

The bit I found unbelievable was that a year ago the shipyard were offering the remains of the vessel, together with her engine, free to anyone who wanted to preserve her. A year later she's broken up. Can you imagine somone offering a Barry hulk for free? LOL

Ship preservation is a whole different ball game I know - but all the same!

Indeed. There is (was?) also a WWII D-Day veteran LST nearby gradually dissappearing as bits are cut off it .....
