Does anyone know what happened to the photo guide? I can't seem to find it in the photography section!

Well, what a wonderful two days. Just returning to Leeds as we speak after having a tremendous time yesterday and today at Norfolk. Yesterday as I arrived the heaven's opened with gala force winds beyond belief, bad times :wall And guess who was the daft one that stayed out in it all afternoon and evening :shifty Was still ringing wet this dinnertime. The photo shoot was an enjoyable experience yesterday evening, although I did leave for the pub :dance The light was a lot better this time :) Below are a couple of images from the photo shoot.

It's been a fabulous final weekend to Steaming Around Yorkshire and would like to thank all those that made it happen.

I shall try and get a couple of clips uploaded tomorrow from the event but the remainder will be available on the Part 4: Summer Steam 2009 - The Farewell DVD which is now available to order. It also includes footage from everyday of the SSE season, Settle & Carlisle, KWVR, NYMR, NNR, Middleton, Wensleydale and much more... More details available here.

Mixed fortunes for me, all fine for me until Friday 10.30pm when I realised my tent had blown away :-(
A very uncomfortable night in the toilet block for me.... along with a broken camera (dropped in puddle) and a video with 5 mins battery.
It was a case of watching the trains and riding the buses today.
Mind you now I have an excuse to buy a Digital SLR :)

Photos tomorrow when I can borrow my sisters camera to upload them and thanks everyone for a goodun

Glad you guys enjoyed the photoshoot - it might not have been what was planned, but it seems to have been well received.

Very tired now, after not much sleep either fri or sat night, but a good gala, and one that I think we can be pleased with :)

I have a few hundred shots to pick through now, but will post some efforts in a couple of days or so

Spent an enjoyable weekend on the NNR. The heavens certainly opened on Friday, but it added to the atmosphere!

It was nice meeting a few of you, it seemed the Dace trick worked
I was also approached (on saturday) but a couple whos son was marrying a similar sounding name and they just wondered where I was from.
I even spent half the day with an Flickr Friend.
The amount of enthusiasts I met and spoke to made the gala for me, there are not many places where you can just walk up to a person you have never met before and chat for an hour.
And those burgers at Weybourne were delicious!

I have had a look at my photos and have some ones I'm happy with so the loss of Saturday isn't a big deal for me.
May go up for the ww2 weekend if the weather looks good (is the n2 still there?)

And I forgot to mention I think I win the prize for meeting the most travelled enthusiast, he came from the Philippines on the Friday Night!

Had a grandstand view of Sunday's action at Weybourne while on sales stand
duty. The one disappointment was the N2 only doing one solo trip on
the Quadarts and that was bunker first. To me it was the train of the gala
and the NNR should have kept with Friday's/Saturday's example and run four
round trips with it on the Sunday too. After all a lot of folk could
only be there on the Sunday. Hopefully the 1940s weekend will see
    more N2 + Quadart mileage.

Still sorting our pics, will post them on my website thursday or friday, really enjoyed the gala :)
I also thought the freshly outshopped b&c liveried Kitchen car looks very smart with the dining set :)

Just back from a great weekend.

I agree with the comments about yesterdays timetable being a little odd. However, I was lucky enough to catch the N2 and Quads in sunshine on Sat.

Some great real ale and cider (according to Mrs A) at Weybourne yesterday shame the burgers had run out! Thanks to the local guys for giving me some good advice on locations.
Am still sorting the rest of my pics.

Just a big thank you to the NNR for putting on a hugely enjoyable gala.
I was only there for the Saturday but a return visit is a must. Dare I suggest the visit of the N2 should be an annual event? [-o<

Ok so the timetable seemed to go out of the window quite quickly but this didnt bother me in the slightest, in fact it added to the fun somewhat. I hope the general public also were not too inconvenienced.

Also very nice to meet Pennysteam and Penny who I would have taken home!

    Regards

    Ben

Another Great Gala, unfortunately I missed the down pour on Friday and the photo shoot not arriving till Saturday morning just as the goods was sitting on the platform at Weybourne with the 5521. The sun was just perfect for the departure and to top that the second departure of City of Truro was breath taking, set us up perfect for the rest of the day. Another clever ploy was having the last carriage wafting bacon smells past your nose as you watched the departing train go into the distance, resulting in quick brake at the station for breakfast. Fortunately my bacon was 50% less fat, penny had the other 50%. Then it was back into action for a none stop day of steam, steam and yet more steam, some how I just seemed to miss the diesel, almost as if I had planned it that way. Ended the day with a long wait at Kelling heath for what turned out to be only City of Truro in twilight and then a tricky walk back down to weybourne in the dark to catch it again before finishing a 18 hour day and then up again at 4.30 am to get on shed extra early on the Sunday for another perfect days steaming, pity 5521 had to sit the day out. Well most of the photo's are up now, video in the pipe line, so I will finish with big thanks from Penny for a perfect two days from all you guys at NNR and also it was nice bumping into everyone else who's name escapes me, names are never my strong point, should hopefully be down again shortly for the 1940's weekend.

A good gala but dissapointing in so far as I was there on the Sunday with a) miserable weather until about 2.30pm and b) a complete lack of the N2 and the Quads as previously said! As it wasn't a planned visit particularly, and we just happened to be there, I didn't mind too much!

Let me add my congratulations for a very good and enjoyable weekend - thanks to all concerned for their efforts.

(But why was diesel substituted on the last train of the gala from Sheringham through to Holt?)

The 24 did 5521's diagram on sunday. 5521 was due to haul the last train so I guess that is why.
